Aug. 26 11:39 AM PT12:39 PM MT1:39 PM CT2:39 PM ET7:39 PM GMT3:39 AM 北京时间-Capps gave up two runs in the ninth while being roughed up for the second time in as many games against the Phillies, but got the victory when the Pirates scored three in the bottom of the inning and won 6-4 on Tuesday.
Analysis: Capps, who's blown four saves and has a 6.38 ERA, gave up five runs in the ninth of an 8-7 loss at Philadelphia on July 11.
Aug. 9 1:50 PM PT2:50 PM MT3:50 PM CT4:50 PM ET9:50 PM GMT5:50 AM 北京时间-Capps was ejected for hitting Albert Pujols with a pitch in the eighth inning Sunday, one batter after Skip Schumaker hit a go-ahead two-run home run. Capps entered with one out in the eighth to preserve a 3-2 lead, but Schumaker hit his first career pinch-hit homer on an 0-1 pitch. Capps threw a strike to Pujols before hitting him in the left side.
Analysis: Pujols glared at Capps while trotting to first base, but made no move toward the mound. Home plate umpire Mike Estabrook immediately ejected Capps without warning either dugout. Pirates manager John Russell came out briefly to argue, but Capps said little before quickly leaving the mound.
May 31 8:40 AM PT9:40 AM MT10:40 AM CT11:40 AM ET4:40 PM GMT12:40 AM 北京时间-After missing three games with a bruised right elbow, Capps returned and earned his 10th save in Saturday night's 7-4 win over visiting Houston.
Analysis: The 25-year-old right-hander experienced some numbness and tingling after being struck by a line drive during Monday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Geovany Soto's shot up the middle hit him with one out in the ninth struck him on the elbow, but X-rays showed no structural damage.
May 21 10:55 AM PT11:55 AM MT12:55 PM CT1:55 PM ET6:55 PM GMT2:55 AM 北京时间-Capps earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning in the Pirates' 2-1 win over Washington on Wednesday, but it wasn't easy.
Analysis: Nationals pinch-hitter Josh Willingham ended the game with a fly ball off Capps that Nate McLouth snagged about a foot from the top of the wall in center field. Capps has been looking for consistency since his elbow injury, but he's hardly inspiring much confidence.
May 13 8:50 AM PT9:50 AM MT10:50 AM CT11:50 AM ET4:50 PM GMT12:50 AM 北京时间-Capps pitched the ninth in a non-save situation, his first appearance since developing pain in his right elbow May 4.
Analysis: He loaded the bases by giving up a single and walking two, but had two strikeouts while retiring the next three batters. Overall, not a promising outing, but perhaps he was just showing rust after facing his first live action in eight days.
