Nov. 5 11:00 AM PT12:00 PM MT1:00 PM CT2:00 PM ET7:00 PM GMT3:00 AM 北京时间-Rivera recorded the final five outs Wednesday as the Yankees earned their 27th World Series title - and Rivera's fifth - with a 7-3 victory over the Phillies.
Analysis: Rivera, who will turn 40 on Nov. 29, was John Wetteland's setup man on the 1996 championship team, but has become the most dominant closer in postseason history with 39 saves - five this season. In the regular season, he and Andy Pettitte have combined for the most win-save combos in big league history with 63. "It's only fitting I think that Andy started it, Mo finished it," Derek Jeter said.
Oct. 30 2:15 PM PT3:15 PM MT4:15 PM CT5:15 PM ET10:15 PM GMT6:15 AM 北京时间-Rivera got six outs for his 38th postseason save, his 10th in World Series play Thursday in a 3-1 win over the Phillies in Game 2.
Analysis: Rivera's career postseason ERA is a microscopic 0.76.
Sep. 19 2:36 PM PT3:36 PM MT4:36 PM CT5:36 PM ET10:36 PM GMT6:36 AM 北京时间-Rivera allowed a two-out, two-run, ninth-inning homer to Ichiro Suzuki in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Mariners.
Analysis: The ninth started in typical Rivera fashion. He overpowered Jack Hannahan and Mike Carp for his 999th and 1,000th career strikeouts. The finish was so sudden since Rivera had been so dominant over the last few months. It was only the second time since June that Rivera has allowed a run, and just his second blown save of the year, having converted 36 straight. His previous blown save was April 24 when Boston's Jason Bay tagged him for a two-run homer.
Sep. 7 4:05 PM PT5:05 PM MT6:05 PM CT7:05 PM ET12:05 AM GMT8:05 AM 北京时间-Rivera is ready to return to the New York Yankees after experiencing soreness in his left groin.
Analysis: Manager Joe Girardi said he wasn't sure how he would work Rivera back into the mix, but said he could give him the ninth inning when the Yankees wrap up a four-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday.
Aug. 20 9:28 AM PT10:28 AM MT11:28 AM CT12:28 PM ET5:28 PM GMT1:28 AM 北京时间-Rivera finished for his major league-leading 36th save in 37 opportunities and 32nd in a row Wednesday in a 3-2 win over the A's.
Analysis: Rivera's ERA is 1.90, marking the sixth time in seven seasons it has been under two runs.
Jul. 15 9:38 PM PT10:38 PM MT11:38 PM CT12:38 AM ET5:38 AM GMT1:38 PM 北京时间-Rivera pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his record fourth All-Star save in the AL's 4-3 win on Tuesday, breaking a tie with Dennis Eckersley and giving him eight All-Star innings over eight appearances with no earned runs.
Analysis: Rivera teamed with Boston's Jonathan Papelbon and Joe Nathan to shut the NL down over the final three innings.
Jun. 29 9:30 AM PT10:30 AM MT11:30 AM CT12:30 PM ET5:30 PM GMT1:30 AM 北京时间-Rivera became the second reliever to reach the 500-save milestone when the Yankees held off the punchless Mets 4-2 on Sunday for a Subway Series sweep.
Analysis: He joined Milwaukee's Trevor Hoffman, who has 571 saves, as the only major leaguers with 500. The right-hander pitched a one-hit ninth for his 18th save in 19 chances this season. It was the 110th time Rivera has gone more than one inning for a save.
Jun. 26 10:00 AM PT11:00 AM MT12:00 PM CT1:00 PM ET6:00 PM GMT2:00 AM 北京时间-Rivera earned his 499th career save in the New York Yankees' 11-7 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Thursday night.
Analysis: Rivera, who needs one save to join Trevor Hoffman as the only pitchers with 500, faced one batter, retiring pinch-hitter Diory Hernandez on fly out, to strand two runners. Rivera has converted 17 of 18 chances this season.
Jun. 8 10:42 AM PT11:42 AM MT12:42 PM CT1:42 PM ET6:42 PM GMT2:42 AM 北京时间-Rivera pitched a scoreless ninth inning Sunday for his 13th save in a 4-3 win over the Rays. It came one day after he gave up four runs in Saturday's 9-7 loss, and was upset that he was ordered to intentionally walk Evan Longoria.
Analysis: On Sunday, Rivera got Longoria to ground out to end the game. "You can't come to a game angry or with too much venom. Then you are not in control of what you are doing," Rivera said. "I have to control myself before I can go out and pitch. Yesterday is over. What can I do?"
Jun. 7 11:23 AM PT12:23 PM MT1:23 PM CT2:23 PM ET7:23 PM GMT3:23 AM 北京时间-Rivera recorded just two outs in the ninth inning and suffered the loss in Saturday's 9-7 defeat to visiting Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Rivera (0-2, 3.47 ERA) allowed four runs and three hits before he was lifted for Phil Coke. Since his previous defeat May 7 - also at home to the Rays, he had converted seven save opportunities and had a 0.79 ERA over 10 appearances.
May 21 10:12 AM PT11:12 AM MT12:12 PM CT1:12 PM ET6:12 PM GMT2:12 AM 北京时间-Orioles rookie Nolan Reimold homered off Rivera in the Yankees' 11-4 win over the Orioles on Wednesday.
Analysis: Rivera has allowed five homers this year, one more than he gave up in each of the last two seasons and his most since serving up five in 2001. The Yankees' new ballpark could be a factor, but this is a concern considering Rivera is 39.
May 17 11:14 AM PT12:14 PM MT1:14 PM CT2:14 PM ET7:14 PM GMT3:14 AM 北京时间-Rivera pitched two scoreless innings in Saturday's 6-4 win in 11 over visiting Minnesota.
Analysis: It was Rivera's longest outing since he pitched two innings Aug. 16 against Kansas City. The Yankees closer is 0-1 with a 2.93 ERA and seven saves this season.
Apr. 25 8:44 PM PT9:44 PM MT10:44 PM CT11:44 PM ET4:44 AM GMT12:44 AM 北京时间-Rivera blew his first save of the season in Friday's loss to Boston.
Analysis: River gave up a two-run homer in the ninth. He had converted his previous four save opportunities and hadn't allowed a run in seven innings of work.
